CURATOR

From 2013 to 2018, I helped transform TEDxUGA into a highly anticipated annual event, an active community partner, an innovative part of the UGA curriculum, and a growing campus movement that has engaged faculty, staff, alumni, and students across the country.

As Curator, I gained valuable experience in project management, content curation, event production, and digital strategy. I had the privilege of managing and motivating a Steering Committee of more than 50 faculty, staff, and students. I became a champion of great presentations for organizations all across campus.

Even after four years, my stomach still tied itself in knots as I watched attendees file into the theatre for our main event every March. Everything they saw or heard or felt was based on a decision that I had made; each success was one I took pride in and each failure was one I took personally.

But I also always believed there was something special in the room that I couldn’t take credit for: a collective spirit of radical optimism. It wasn’t believing that a TED Talk would change the world; it was believing that the world was a place we could change.

I witnessed firsthand the profound impact that this revolutionary spirit had on my classroom, my campus, and my entire community. It's something I will always be proud to have been a part of.
