While not a designer by trade, I’ve been dabbling now for more than a decade. I was introduced to graphic design at an early age, thanks to my performing and visual arts high school, and continued to seek out opportunities to expand those skills through my undergraduate and graduate school experiences. I consider this foundational understanding of design principles and processes to be one of my secret superpowers as a communications professiona. When it comes to crafting effective visual communication—thinking like a designer is half the battle.
