I first discovered Duarte in 2013 as an undergraduate student in an upper-level elective course called New Media & TED. Nancy Duarte’s Resonate was the required reading.

In the next few years, I read Resonate more times than I could count. I used its concepts (along with a few of my own) to both prepare dozens of presenters for the TEDxUGA stage and to preach the gospel of the good presentation to hundreds of students, faculty, and staff at the University of Georgia.

Almost exactly five years later, I started my career as a Content Developer at Duarte, helping the world’s biggest brands communicate their best.

On my first day of work, I received a brand new copy of Resonate with a note on top from Nancy. I don’t think you get that many full-circle moments in life and this was one.
